Erasmus, a ‘sensor’ diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder, confronts an existential mid-30s crisis living in a large city of watchers (urbanites) who hide behind technology rather than open themselves to spontaneous interaction. When his anti-anxiety medication inexplicably stops working, he turns to reaching out to people over the internet to distract him from his inevitable slide into neurosis. If modernity and technology are building a wall between people, muses Erasmus, then 'it’s time to become a part of the wall' in the hope of somehow actualizing a real human connection. But then, all is not what it seems as the two worlds Erasmus inhabits start to collide - with surprising results.

DESIDERATA • SHORT FILM
In imagining the not so distant future, a large-scale industrial accident occurs off the shores of a nameless metropolis, throwing our three primary characters onto separate tangents of action that will dramatically and unexpectedly converge.
The EXECUTIVE, in charge of the multi-national corporation at the centre of the accident, is late in traveling to a contentious meeting with the press and company shareholders. The GRAD STUDENT, a young biologist at a local university, is anxious to round up her colleagues and get to the coastline to protect the local wildlife. The SOCCER MOM, concerned about a mass run on the super markets for emergency supplies, makes a desperate dash for a big box store while forgetting to pick up her daughter from soccer practice.
All three characters, from very different walks of life, are on a collision course with each other and the inescapable truth that continues to elude humanity to this day: the fallacy of the Greek classical divide of microcosm from macrocosm. The universe of SPILL is an undivided one - the choices of one affect the futures of many. SPILL is a wakeup call for human solidarity - whether we want it or not.
